Job summary

Gilbane Building Company in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Senior General Superintendent to lead field operations on one or more large projects. You will be on site every day, directing trade contractors, managing safety, and coordinating with owners, architects, and the project team to keep work progressing on schedule.

You will mentor the project team, manage general conditions budgets, and drive a strong safety culture while delivering high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• OSHA 30-hour certification.
• STS-C Certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED training.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates trade contractors to ensure high-quality work and schedule adherence.
• Supervises and develops the project team.
• Manages the project budget for general conditions and site services.
• Develops and communicates the work plan for field changes.
• Leads site walks with owner, architect/engineer, and lenders to show progress.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to coordinate trades and anticipate problems.
• Verifies subcontractors obtain necessary permits.
• Arranges inspections with AHJ.
• Acts as safety representative and drives safety culture.
• Leads safety planning and safety trainings.
• Manages logistics and coordination onsite.
• Leads or participates in preconstruction and buyout activities.
• Prepares daily reports and tracks time and materials.
