Job summary

Gilbane Building seeks a Lead Superintendent to independently manage all field operations on a $5–$50M project. The role is on-site daily and pivotal to the project team’s success.

You will guide safety, scheduling, and coordination across trade contractors, ensuring quality and timely delivery while maintaining strong client relationships. A Bachelor’s degree and 7–12 years of leadership on large commercial/industrial sites are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 7-12 years of experience leading a component of work or entire project on commercial/industrial construction at $30M+ value.
• OSHA 30-hour certified.
• STS-C Certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and sub-contractors to meet the project schedule.
• Develops and communicates the field work plan for changes.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate problems.
• Ensures subcontractors obtain necessary permits.
• Establishes credibility with owners, trades, and partners.
• Acts as primary safety representative on site and enforces safety.
• Leads weekly contractor meetings.
• Maintains daily reports and documentation with software tools.
• Manages the project schedule and contingency plans.
• Communicates schedule status to team and trades.
• Plans, coordinates, and manages jobsite logistics.
• Develops the QIC plan with Operations Excellence and implements changes.
• Coordinates with Site Services/Next 150 for materials and crews.
• Trains Field Engineers and Superintendents on project needs and business acumen.
• Reviews scopes of work and participates in buyout.
• Assists in Time and Materials tracking.
• Leads daily huddle and pre-task plan reviews.
• Supports financial forecasting and project metrics.
