Job summary

Gilbane Building Company seeks a General Superintendent to independently manage all field operations on a project. This on-site role leads daily activities, coordinates trade contractors, and ensures safety and schedule adherence.

You will build high-performing teams, drive quality, manage budgets and logistics, and partner with Project Managers and Executives to deliver projects on time and within budget. This position offers growth within a respected contractor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• OSHA 30-hour certified or equivalent safety training.
• STS-C Certification or equivalent site certification.

Responsibilities

• Directs the day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and sub-contractors to ensure high-quality work and the approved project schedule.
• Manages the project budget for general conditions and site services.
• Develops, documents, and communicates the work plan regarding changes in the field.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate potential problems.
• Obtains or verifies that subcontractors obtain necessary permits.
• Acts as primary safety representative in the field and enforces safety compliance.
• Develops safety strategies and drives safety culture across all project personnel.
• Creates and updates the project schedule and contingency plans as needed.
• Leads contractor meetings and maintains daily reports and documentation.
