Job summary

Gilbane Building seeks a Senior General Superintendent II to manage field operations on one or more large projects. This on-site role requires directing trade contractors, leading the project team, and overseeing safety and scheduling on a daily basis.

You will mentor junior staff, drive cost control for general conditions, and coordinate with owners, architects, and lenders to ensure timely project delivery while upholding Gilbane's core values and standards. Ohio-based opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
• 15+ years of experience on large commercial/industrial construction projects.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required.
• STS-C Certification is preferred.
• First Aid, CPR, AED and Stop the Bleed training beneficial.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates Gilbane’s trade contractors and their sub-contractors to meet the project schedule.
• Supervises and develops the project team.
• Manages the project budget for general conditions and Next 150/Site Services.
• Develops, documents, and communicates the field work plan for changes.
• Leads site walks with owner, architect/engineer, and lenders to show progress.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to coordinate trades and anticipate problems.
• Leads contractor meetings and safety procedures across trades.
• Mentors junior team members and leads Superintendent peer group.
