Job summary

Thomson Power Systems, a Regal Rexnord company, seeks a Senior Field Service Technician for hands-on service of low- and medium-voltage equipment. The role starts with a project in Richmond, VA and involves extensive travel nationwide after completion.

You will perform start-up, testing, and commissioning, ensuring safe, compliant operation before handoff to customers. Requires 10+ years in power distribution/controls, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to interact with customers

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on maintenance on power distribution and control equipment.
• Proven experience installing, testing, and repairing switchgear, breakers, transformers.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, electrical codes (CSA/NFPA/UL).
• Proficient with PC tools (Word, Excel, OneNote) and mobile work apps.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Excellent customer service in field settings.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead field service work: site assessments, installation, start-up, testing and commissioning.
• Maintain and service power distribution, control, and automation systems.
• Coordinate complex commissioning and upgrades with customers and TPS HQ.
• Troubleshoot and repair switchgear, ATS, relays, and control gear on-site.
• Submit field reports and documentation promptly; support Technical Call Desk.
