Job summary

Regal Rexnord Thomson Power Systems in the United States is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform hands-on service on critical power systems, including startup, testing, and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and ATS. You’ll serve as the customer liaison, delivering value-added services on mission-critical equipment with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on maintenance on power distribution and control equipment.
• Experience installing, testing, and repairing breakers, transformers, switchgear.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and electrical codes (CSA, NFPA, UL).
• Proficient with PC tools, email, data entry, and mobile devices.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Strong customer service orientation and professional field presence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage predictive and preventative maintenance programs for customers.
• Perform field service work: site assessments, installation, start-up, testing, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Lead commissioning and modernization activities, ensuring proper configuration and validation.
• Troubleshoot and repair paralleling switchgear, ATS, control systems, and related equipment.
• Complete field projects on schedule meeting safety and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with local Field Service team and TPS HQ for alignment and excellence.
• Build customer/vendor relationships and provide timely follow-up and issue resolution.
• Submit field service and expense reports accurately and promptly.
• Support Technical Call Desk with diagnostics and guidance.
• Follow testing procedures for breakers, switchgear, relays, and automation equipment.
