Job summary

Thomson Power Systems, a Regal Rexnord company, is seeking a Field Service Technician in Wisconsin. This hands-on role performs startup, testing, and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage gear at customer sites, with heavy emphasis on safety, quality, and reliability.

Travel up to 50% may be required as part of supporting installed-base projects. You will diagnose and resolve issues on paralleling switchgear, ATS, and control systems, delivering on-site service and customer value while

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on preventive and predictive maintenance on power distribution and control equipment.
• Experience installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing breakers, transformers, switchgear, and related equipment.
• Strong knowledge of CSA, NFPA, and UL health and electrical codes.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, email, and mobile apps for field tasks.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage maintenance programs for installed-base customers.
• Perform field service tasks: site assessments, installation, startup, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of power systems.
• Lead commissioning and upgrades ensuring configuration and validation.
• Troubleshoot and repair switchgear, ATS, and related equipment on customer sites.
• Document field reports, expenses, and customer communications.
• Coordinate with TPS HQ for alignment and best practices.
• Support training for customers, partners, and employees.
• Review engineering drawings for accuracy and constructability.
