Job summary

Thomson Power Systems in Edgerton, Wisconsin is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform hands-on service on installed critical power systems, including low- and medium-voltage switchgear and automatic transfer switches (ATS). You will lead start-up, testing, and commissioning, diagnose issues, and ensure systems are safely installed, validated, and ready for handoff to customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage maintenance programs for installed-base customers.
• Perform field service tasks: site assessments, install, start-up, testing, commissioning.
• Lead commissioning, upgrades, and modernization to customer handoff.
• Troubleshoot and repair paralleling switchgear, ATS, control systems, and mechanical equipment.
• Complete field projects on schedule, meeting safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with local Field Service team and TPS HQ to ensure alignment.
• Build strong customer/vendor relationships and deliver high-quality service.
• Provide timely follow-up to customer requests and clear issue resolution.
• Track and submit field service reports and expense reports timely.
• Support the Technical Call.
