Job summary

ABB in the United States is seeking a Field Service Technician to deliver on-site and remote service work, troubleshoot issues, and perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades for critical power equipment. You will ensure customer satisfaction by communicating timelines and expectations, while supporting safety and quality standards.

You will coach technicians, prepare material lists, and identify improvements, building strong relationships with customers in Virginia.

Qualifications

• Requires strong communication (written and verbal) across organizational levels.
• Proficient with MS Office; basic project management skills.
• Ability to write test plans and reports detailing results.
• Organized and able to meet deadlines for admin duties.

Responsibilities

• Work on-site with customers to identify opportunities for operational improvement and eliminate pain points.
• Perform field service tasks including identifying issues and on-site troubleshooting within certified areas.
• Execute installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, extensions, upgrades, retrofits, and end-of-life services.
• Coach technicians and supervise complex site activities; train team members and customers when needed.
• Prepare material lists for service activities and ensure quality standards for parts and equipment.
• Identify opportunities for product and quality improvements and communicate them to management.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain safe work and environmental practices.
