Job summary

Rivian Automotive in Southern California seeks an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to act as a technical expert and leader for complex vehicle repairs and field operations. The role combines service-center work with remote and travel assignments to production plants and customer sites.

The candidate will mentor technicians, drive continuous improvements, and tackle challenging diagnostics using advanced tools.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or recognized equivalency preferred.
Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school or vocational program preferred.
Minimum age of 21 years old.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to travel to regional locations or production plants as needed.
Proficient in Windows/Mac environments and work order systems.

Responsibilities

Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, complex repairs, installations, and inspections at service centers and field locations.
Provide high-level diagnostic guidance and remote diagnostics/repairs via vehicle data and schematics.
Coach, mentor, and train junior technicians and cross-functional partners; lead problem solving.
Use specialized diagnostic tools to resolve high voltage, electrical, and network faults.
Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and drive continuous improvement across workflows.
Oversee parts operations including ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing; document feedback to engineering.
