Job summary

Rivian Automotive is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to act as a technical expert and leader for complex vehicle repairs and field operations. The role is centered at a service center but may involve remote work, travel to remote sites, or production plants to provide advanced field support.

The candidate will mentor junior technicians, drive continuous improvements, and tackle challenging diagnostic tasks in a fast-paced environment with exposure to high voltage systems

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or recognized equivalency preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school or vocational program preferred.
• Minimum age of 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics & Complex Repairs: Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, complex repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles inside service centers and in field settings.
• Technical Support & Remote Troubleshooting: Provide high-level diagnostic guidance and remote diagnostics for non-local issues by evaluating logged data and schematics.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Coach, mentor, and train junior technicians and internal partners; lead cross-functional problem-solving.
• Advanced Tools & Methodologies: Use diagnostic tools (PICO-Scope, PCAN, Kavaser Memorator) to resolve complex electrical and HV faults.
• Quality & Process Standardization: Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and drive continuous improvement across workflows.
• Parts Operations & Systems: Oversee parts ordering, receiving, inventory management, and billing for efficiency.
