Job summary

Rivian Automotive is seeking a senior Field Service Technician to act as a technical expert and leader for complex vehicle repairs and field operations. The role combines service center work with field support, including remote diagnostics, travel to remote locations, and production plant visits as needed.

The position emphasizes mentoring junior technicians, leading continuous improvement, and tackling challenging diagnostic tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8+ years automotive repair experience.
• 3 to 8+ years hands-on HV system experience.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel to regional locations as needed.
• State mechanic certifications where required by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, complex repairs, installations, and inspections in service centers or field settings.
• Provide high-level diagnostic guidance to field teams and perform remote diagnostics when possible.
• Coach, mentor, and train junior technicians and foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Utilize diagnostic tools to resolve complex electrical, HV, and network faults.
• Produce high-quality service documentation and provide root-cause feedback to engineering and leadership.
• Interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams during escalations.
