Job summary

Rivian in California is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to act as a technical expert and leader in supporting complex vehicle repairs and field operations. You will drive continuous improvement, mentor junior teammates, and tackle challenging diagnostic issues in a fast-paced environment.

Based primarily at a Rivian service center, the role may involve remote work, traveling to remote locations, or working at production plants to provide advanced field support as business needs demand.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or recognized equivalency credential preferred.
Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school or vocational program preferred.
Minimum age of 21 years old.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to travel to regional locations or production plants as needed.
Proficient in Windows/Mac environments and repair documentation systems.

Responsibilities

Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, complex repairs, installations, and inspections in service centers and field settings.
Provide high-level diagnostic guidance to field teams and perform remote diagnostics or repairs.
Coach, mentor, and train junior technicians and cross-functional partners; lead shop-floor problem solving.
Utilize diagnostic tools to resolve complex electrical, HV, and network faults.
Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and drive standardization across workflows.
Oversee parts operations including ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing.
Produce documentation and provide root-cause analysis to field engineers and leadership.
Interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams during escalations.
