Job summary

Lam Research is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer at the EIC level to lead complex equipment projects on-site with a focus on reliability, performance, and customer success.

You will own troubleshooting, develop recovery plans, and communicate technical results to customers and management, while mentoring junior staff and driving safety and quality standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• FSE4: 7+ years in semiconductor equipment service, installation, escalation, or product-support with a related bachelor’s degree.
• FSE5: 10+ years in semiconductor equipment with leadership experience and product-line impact.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engineer in Charge (EIC) or senior technical owner for assigned product lines with accountability for technical outcomes.
• Establish a single executable technical plan with defined success criteria, decision points, owners, timing, and risk controls.
• Lead complex troubleshooting from containment through hypothesis development, testing, verification, and permanent resolution.
• Create and maintain MBPS artifacts including problem statements, system models, fault hypotheses, test matrices, and evidence.
• Develop executable game plans detailing work sequence, resources, procedures, and data capture.
• Lead Pre-Task Plans, risk assessments, and stop-work decisions for high-risk or non-standard work.
• Drive technical execution for installations, upgrades, and recovery efforts with clear milestones and ownership.
• Train and mentor new hires and developing FSEs through OJT and certification support.
