Job summary

Lam Research in Hillsboro, OR seeks a Field Service Engineer to ensure the operational excellence of our semiconductor equipment. You will handle on-site repair, maintenance, and relocation start-up tasks at customer sites.

You’ll troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues across Lam products, keep training up to date, and collaborate with customers and internal teams to drive service quality and trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electronics/Engineering with 8+ years, or Master’s with 6+ years, or equivalent.
• Experience with installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and operation manuals.
• Able to work in a clean room with PPE.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; flexible shifts including overtime and on-call.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site repair, maintenance, and start-up services of Lam’s electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues across Lam products to minimize downtime and interruptions.
• Stay up-to-date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through training and certification.
• Perform field modifications and updates, maintaining records to coordinate with Lam and customers.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction and trust.
