Job summary

Lam Research in CA SF Bay Area seeks an experienced Senior Field Service Engineer (FSE) at the EIC level to lead complex equipment service, installation, upgrades, and recovery projects. You will own technical outcomes, drive structured problem solving, and deliver clear customer-facing communications.

You will design executable game plans, MBPS artifacts, and risk-based approaches, while mentoring newer FSEs and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, sustained performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related technical field with 7+ years of relevant semiconductor equipment service experience.
• Proven success as EIC or technical lead for complex equipment.
• Ability to develop structured problem-solving models and defensible troubleshooting.
• Excellent cross-functional communication with technicians, engineers, managers, customers, and executives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engineer in Charge (EIC) or senior technical owner for assigned product lines and recovery projects.
• Establish a single executable technical plan with defined success criteria, ownership, timing, and resources.
• Lead complex troubleshooting from containment to permanent resolution and prevention.
• Create MBPS artifacts including problem statements, fault hypotheses, and test matrices.
• Develop executable game plans detailing sequence, parts, procedures, data capture, and recovery options.
• Lead Pre-Task Plans, risk assessments, and stop-work decisions for high-risk work.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership during core hours and support off-shift escalation when needed.
• Mentor new hires and developing FSEs through OJT and certification support.
