Job summary

Lam Research in Manassas, VA, seeks a Field Service Engineer to ensure operational excellence of semiconductor equipment at customer sites. You will perform on-site repair, maintenance, installation, and upgrades, interfacing with customers and Lam teams to deliver reliable solutions.

You will diagnose issues, study schematics, train junior staff, and travel domestically and internationally as needed. This role offers on-site and hybrid work options, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s with 6+ years; or equivalent.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical/mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality on-site repair, maintenance, and complete installation/relocation start-up services of Lam’s systems at customer sites.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues across Lam products to minimize downtime.
• Keep up to date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through learning and certification.
• Perform field modifications and updates, maintaining records and coordinating activities between Lam and the customer.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Lead customer meetings and drive improvement programs with customer and Lam teams.
