Job summary

Lam Research Corporation seeks a Field Service Engineer to lead on-site repair, maintenance, and installation of complex electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites. You’ll diagnose issues, minimize downtime, and stay current through training and certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years; or equivalent work experience.
• Previous experience in installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.
• Able to work in a clean room environment while wearing PPE.
• Travel domestically and internationally; willingness to work varied shifts including overtime.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality on-site repair, maintenance service, and complete installation/relocation start-up services of Lam’s complex systems at customer sites.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, isolate issues, and solve problems to minimize downtime and interruptions.
• Keep up to date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through training and certification.
• Perform field modifications and updates with proper records to coordinate activities between Lam and the customer.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Partner with customers at management and engineer levels, run meetings, measure trust, and lead improvement programs.
• Discuss opportunities and challenges with customers to increase trust.
• Provide technical instruction, leadership, and mentoring for junior engineers.
• Coach and delegate to ensure project completion on time.
