Job summary

Covaris, a PerkinElmer Company, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to coordinate and perform field service activities for Covaris instruments, including installation, repair, and maintenance. The role serves as the first contact for technical support and requires independent work with supervision from the Director of Global Service.

The position supports remote work based in NC or MD with travel as needed, and involves CRM stewardship, account coordination, and collaboration with engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or technical discipline.
• 5+ years in engineering, manufacturing, or service environments.
• Experience in a laboratory or clinical setting is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with customers by phone or in person.
• Familiarity with electronic testing procedures and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform field service activities, including installation, on-site repair, and preventative maintenance.
• Serve as first point of contact for technical support and scheduling.
• Maintain CRM records and service reports.
• Communicate with Territory Sales Managers about account activity.
• Develop and edit SOPs for service and repair.
