Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Sr. Field Application Engineer in San Jose to drive pre-sales and solution delivery for global IT customers.

You will collaborate across sales and engineering, lead technical investigations, and help customers optimize architectures with firmware, OS, and virtualization. Travel up to 10% may be required; a strong background in x86 servers and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelors' or Masters' degree in engineering discipline; CS, CE, or EE preferred.
Excellent communication skills and business sense required.
5–8 years related experience with Compute/Storage Server or Data Center IT infrastructure.
Strong background with x86-based server architecture.
Familiarity with Firmware, Linux, Windows and virtualization platforms.
Strong technical communication and leadership to guide investigations with engineers.

Responsibilities

Solution architect and presentation skills to expand Fortune1000 account penetration and loyalty.
Work with sales and extended teams to map customer requirements and provide optimized technical solutions.
Provide technical leadership in Pre-Sales and oversee implementation of solutions.
Engage with technical customers and maintain trust.
Lead investigations and resolve field issues involving hardware and software.
Build and demonstrate proofs-of-concept meeting customer needs; travel up to 10%.
