Job summary

Super Micro Computer is seeking a Sr. Application Engineer in San Jose, CA to apply deep knowledge of server platforms and provide technical support to internal R&D and external customers.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of hands-on experience with computer systems and servers, strong communication, and ability to drive issues to closure, with collaboration across sales and product teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 8+ years of relevant experience in computer systems and/or servers preferred.
• Strong organizational and well-developed social skills.
• Excellent telephone etiquette skills and onsite support skills.
• Strong communication skill in both verbal and written.
• Excellent knowledge of Computer Server products and services.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to resolve technical issues including motherboard, server systems, and computer peripherals on the phone, by E-mails, or go on-site.
• Establish and maintain close communication with sales team to discuss services and technical issues.
• Manage issues with effective escalation plan to ensure the complex issues are appropriately addressed and resolved in timely manner.
• Assist Product Managers in supporting product life cycle maintenance related activities.
• Provide needed pre- and post- sales supports to help lay the groundwork for achieving successful sales and best customer satisfaction.
• Continually develop knowledge base of current and new products.
