Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Service Engineer to perform fieldwork at customer sites and resolve server system issues. You will be part of the Global Service Team, supporting post-sales service and contributing to a world-class field engineering organization.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE (or an equivalent) and 3+ years of experience servicing X86 servers, with strong hardware diagnostics and communication skills. Travel up to 25% and on-site work are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred
• 3+ years of experience servicing complex X86 systems and parts
• Associate degree in electrical technology or equivalent military experience is acceptable
• Experience in Windows and Linux environments is a plus
• Hands-on server hardware troubleshooting and on-site customer service experience

Responsibilities

• On-site and remote troubleshooting of Supermicro equipment in enterprise environments
• Provide second-line support to resellers and distributors
• Travel to customer sites to diagnose and resolve issues up to 25% of the time
• Mentor junior service engineers and contribute to training materials
• Produce useful fault triage information and reports
