Job summary

ABB is seeking a Field Application Engineer to support the Electrification business in the Los Angeles area. You’ll act as the technical lead for consulting engineers, end users, EPCs and designers, ensuring ABB products achieve preferred status in project specs.

You will specialize in MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, panelboards and transformers, with arc flash mitigation considerations, and you’ll educate customers and develop technical papers for IEEE events.

Qualifications

BS degree in engineering, electrical preferred, with strong knowledge of electrical power systems.
PE certification preferred.
Experience in electrical distribution industry or utilities.
Experience collaborating with consultants, EPCs and end users.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with consultant, end user, utility and EPC/DBC engineers to define electrical project needs.
Be the local product expert in MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, motor control, power monitoring.
Educate customers and develop technical content for IEEE papers and industry events.
Advocate voice of the customer for product opportunities and market trends.
