Job summary

ABB is seeking a Services Field Application Engineer to support the regional commercial team in developing field services proposals for power delivery, utilization and automation systems. You will identify value-added service solutions for industrial and utility customers and travel up to 50% within the Western US.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, customer-facing communication, and collaboration with engineering and operations to ensure compliant, high‑quality proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college with 6+ years of experience OR a HS Diploma with 10+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience in application or field engineering for power delivery products and systems.
• Strong written and oral communication; able to present to all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Drive business growth by identifying new opportunities and contributing to regional sales and profitability.
• Develop and present technical solutions aligned with customer needs and prepare high‑quality proposal content.
• Provide technical leadership for field service proposals, site assessments, and cost estimates.
• Ensure alignment with sourcing, operations, and NPI programs to maintain market position.
