Job summary

ABB is seeking a Services Field Application Engineer to support the West Region (CA, HI) with remote workEnabled and up to 50% travel. You will help develop field services proposals for power delivery, power utilization and automation systems, and lead technical solutions and proposal execution for a broad customer base.

This role requires strong field service skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work across teams to deliver value-added service solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 6+ years' experience or HS diploma with 10+ years in field/service engineering.
• Experience in application/field engineering for power delivery equipment and systems.
• Proven ability to review specs, develop proposals, and negotiate contracts.
• Excellent written/spoken communication and leadership in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive business growth by identifying opportunities and supporting regional sales and profitability.
• Deliver technical solutions and proposals aligned with customer needs and compliance.
• Lead project and proposal execution including site assessments and cost estimates.
• Ensure operational alignment by coordinating with sourcing, operations, and NPI programs.
