Job summary

ABB is seeking a Services Field Application Engineer in the Western United States. You will provide technical support to the regional Commercial team, develop field service proposals, and identify value-added service solutions for power delivery, relay upgrades, and arc flash mitigation.

This remote role requires 50% travel and cross-functional collaboration to ensure scope, cost, and compliance are clearly communicated in proposals and to customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or a HS diploma with 10+ years of related experience.
• Experience in application/field engineering for power delivery products and systems; Oil & Gas, metals, mining, data center or similar segments preferred.
• Experience reviewing customer specs, developing proposals, and managing contracts and negotiations.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities for presentations and stakeholder engagement.
• Interpersonal and leadership skills with a customer-focused mindset; collaborative in team environments.
• Creative problem solver with ability to write technical specs and proposals leveraging ABB portfolio.
• Candidates must have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Drive business growth by identifying opportunities, introducing new products/services, and supporting regional goals.
• Deliver technical solutions aligned with customer needs and highlight scope, benefits, and compliance in proposals.
• Lead field service proposals, site assessments, material/labor needs, competitive analysis, and cost estimates.
• Ensure operational alignment by communicating requirements to sourcing/operations and supporting NPI programs.
