Job summary

ABB is seeking a Services Field Application Engineer to provide technical support to the Regional Commercial team in developing field services proposals for power delivery, power utilization and automation equipment and systems. In this role you will identify and propose value-added service solutions to a broad range of industrial, utility, and commercial customers.

The work model is remote, supporting the North Region Mid-Atlantic district (MD, DC, NJ, VA).

Qualifications

Strong field service technical skills.
Excellent communication skills in customer interactions.
Willingness to travel 25%–50% within the MD/DC/NJ/VA region.

Responsibilities

Drive Business Growth: Identify and develop new business opportunities, introduce new products/services, and contribute to regional sales, orders, profitability, and ITO quality goals.
Deliver Technical Solutions: Develop and present technical solutions aligned with customer needs, influence specifications, and prepare high-quality proposal content highlighting scope, benefits, and compliance.
Lead Project & Proposal Execution: Provide technical leadership for Field Service proposals, including site assessments, material/labor requirements, competitive analysis, and support for engineering work scopes, schedules, and cost estimates.
Ensure Operational Alignment: Communicate fulfillment requirements to sourcing and operations, document competitor activities, and support NPI programs to maintain a strong market position.
