Job summary

ABB is seeking a Sr. Field Application Engineer for the Electrification business in the Eastern PA and DE trade areas.

You will act as the technical lead for consultant, end user, EPC and design-build customers to ensure ABB products appear in project specifications. The role requires expertise in MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, transformers, motor control and arc flash mitigation, with field, plant or design experience.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering, electrical preferred; 8+ years in electrical distribution or related field.
• PE certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards: ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, UL.
• Experience in field, plant or design engineering for electrical power systems.

Responsibilities

• Define electrical project needs with consultants, end users, utilities and EPC/DBC engineers.
• Provide design assistance, product selection, value engineering and education on ABB solutions.
• Act as local product expert for MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, transformers and MCCs.
• Illustrate short-circuit, coordination and arc-flash concepts with tools like SKM/EasyPower.
• Educate customers, speak publicly, develop papers for IEEE and industry events.
