Job summary

SOC LLC, a premier provider of cleared talent for the Federal Government, seeks a Senior Technical Escalation Engineer in Herndon, VA. The role centers on Juniper Enterprise/Data Center switching (EX/QFX) with strong root-cause analysis and executive-level collaboration.

You will partner with Engineering and Support teams to resolve complex issues, drive product improvements, and mentor junior staff in a mission-critical government environment. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise networking experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• On-site 5 days/week in Herndon, VA.
• Deep expertise with Juniper EX and QFX platforms.
• Strong knowledge of EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, and data center fabrics.
• Experience in senior escalation, TAC, Tier 3, or Advanced Services roles.
• Experience in mission-critical Federal/Intelligence environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead resolution of high-priority and executive-level customer escalations.
• Serve as a senior GovTAC escalation point for Federal customers using Juniper technologies.
• Drive troubleshooting during Severity 1 incidents and outages.
• Perform advanced root cause analysis across networking, software, and hardware.
• Analyze captures, logs, protocols, and diagnostics to isolate issues.
• Reproduce issues in labs and verify fixes with Engineering.
• Develop mitigations, workarounds, and long-term actions.
• Collaborate with Engineering on defects and product improvements.
• Mentor engineers and share technical best practices.
• Act as trusted advisor to customers and stakeholders.
• Create documentation and scalable support processes to improve throughput.
