Job summary

You will lead high-priority escalations, perform root-cause analysis, collaborate with Engineering, and mentor junior engineers while driving best practices and documentation.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI security clearance at time of hire
• On-site 5 days a week in Herndon, VA
• 10+ years enterprise networking experience
• 5+ years switching experience
• 5+ years in a senior escalation, TAC, Tier 3, or Advanced Services role
• Deep Juniper EX/QFX expertise
• Strong EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, L2/L3, data center fabrics knowledge
• Experience with mission-critical Federal/DoD/Intelligence environments
• Strong communication skills for executive stakeholders
• Bachelor’s or related field or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Lead high-priority and executive-level escalations.
• Serve as GovTAC escalation point for Federal customers using Juniper switching technologies.
• Drive troubleshooting during Severity 1 incidents and outages.
• Perform advanced root cause analysis across networking, software, and hardware domains.
• Analyze packet captures, logs, protocols, and diagnostics to isolate issues.
• Reproduce issues in lab environments and coordinate with Engineering to identify defects and fixes.
• Develop mitigations, workarounds, and long-term corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Engineering on defect identification and product improvements.
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge on best practices.
• Act as trusted technical advisor for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Develop technical documentation, knowledge bases, and scalable support processes.
