Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a Senior Event Manager in the United States to plan and deliver multiday executive programs for a dedicated Experience Studio team, handling 500+ attendees and budgets above $1 million. You will partner with a producer to translate briefs into actionable plans and oversee budgeting from estimate to final reconciliation.

You will manage hotels, venues, transportation, and destination partners; supervise onsite teams; mentor Event Managers; and ensure detailed planning files

Qualifications

• Seven or more years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives.
• Budgets above $1 million managed with forecasts and reconciliations.
• Experience leading onsite teams of ten or more.
• Experience as planning lead beside a producer, senior client event owner.
• Strong hotel and supplier contract skills: attrition, cancellation, F&B minimums.
• Proficiency with enterprise project tools in client-owned environments.
• CMP or related credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff to onsite execution for 500+ attendees.
• Serve as planning lead beside the producer, translating briefs into actionable plans.
• Lead budgeting from initial estimate through reconciliation, including forecasts and change control.
• Develop detailed planning calendars and ensure on-time delivery with suppliers.
• Manage suppliers day-to-day from contracts to final invoices under client rules.
• Coordinate registration and attendee communications in the client's Cvent instance.
• Run onsite logistics, staffing, and VIP movements across extended program weeks.
• Mentor Event Managers and coach through peaks.
• Maintain planning files and notes for seamless handoffs.
• Flag risks early with recommendations to the producer and Studio Ops Manager.
