Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a Senior Event Manager to plan and deliver multiday executive programs for a dedicated Experience Studio team. You will manage budgets above $1 million, coordinate suppliers such as hotels and venues, and lead onsite teams of ten or more across extended travel weeks.

You'll work closely with the producer as the planning lead, translating briefs into actionable plans and communicating risks early to protect timeline and cost. CMP is preferred and opportunities to grow exist.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives with full responsibility from kickoff to reconciliation.
• Budgets above $1 million with accurate forecasts and clean reconciliations.
• Portfolio includes multiday executive programs and audiences 500+; experience directing onsite teams of 10+.
• Experience as planning lead beside a producer or senior client event owner.
• Strong contract skills: attrition, cancellation, F&B minimums, and enforcing signed terms.
• Proficiency with Cvent and enterprise project/collaboration tools in a client-owned environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff through onsite execution for 500+ attendees and budgets above $1 million.
• Lead planning alongside the producer and flag when requests impact time or money.
• Build and manage program budgets from initial estimate to final reconciliation, including forecasts and cost data.
• Create a detailed planning calendar under the producer's master timeline and manage it in client tools.
• Manage hotels, venues, transportation, F&B, and destination partners from contracts to final invoices.
• Coordinate registration and attendee communications in the client's Cvent instance.
• Run onsite logistics with teams of 10+ during extended travel weeks.
• Mentor Event Managers and provide coaching across programs.
• Maintain planning files and notes for seamless handoffs and post-program debriefs.
• Raise scope, budget, and resourcing risks with recommendations.
