Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Senior Event Manager to plan and deliver complex programs for a dedicated Experience Studio team, including multiday executive events with 500+ attendees and budgets above $1 million. You will partner with a producer, manage budgets and suppliers, mentor event managers, and ensure on-site execution from kickoff to close using Cvent and enterprise tools.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives with full responsibility from kickoff to reconciliation.
• Management of program budgets above $1 million with accurate forecasts and reconciliations.
• Portfolio includes multiday executive programs and audiences of 500+ with onsite teams of ten or more.
• Experience as planning lead beside a producer or senior client event owner with clear decision ownership.
• Strong hotel/supplier contract skills and knowledge of attrition, cancellations, and F&B minimums.
• Proficiency with enterprise project tools and client-owned environments.
• CMP is preferred: certification and experience on dedicated client teams or DMOs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff through onsite execution and close, including multiday executive programs and audiences of 500+.
• Act as planning lead beside the producer, translating briefs into deliverable plans and signaling cost/time impacts early.
• Build and manage program budgets from initial estimates to final reconciliation, including forecasts and supplier commitments.
• Create and maintain detailed planning calendars, ensuring all dates are current in project tools and team adherence.
• Oversee day-to-day supplier management (hotels, venues, transportation, F&B, destination partners) within procurement rules.
• Coordinate attendee registration and communications in the client’s Cvent instance and ensure data integrity.
• Lead onsite logistics with teams of ten or more, including staffing, room setup, and VIP movements.
• Mentor Event Managers, review plans and budgets, and cover peaks across the calendar.
• Keep planning files and decision notes complete for seamless handoffs and post-program debriefs.
• Raise scope, budget, and resourcing risks early with recommendations.
