Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel in the United States seeks a Senior Event Manager to plan and deliver complex multiday programs for an executive audience, budgets above $1 million, and teams of ten or more onsite.

You will partner with producers, manage budgets from estimate to reconciliation, coordinate hotels, venues, transport, and attendee communications in the client environment, and mentor younger event managers across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives with full program responsibility.
• Budgets above $1 million with accurate forecasts and reconciliations.
• Portfolio includes multiday executive programs for 500+ attendees.
• Experience as planning lead beside a producer or senior owner with clear decision rights.
• Strong hotel and supplier contract skills and negotiation experience.
• Proficiency with Cvent and enterprise project tools in a client environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff to onsite execution and close.
• Lead planning beside the producer, signaling cost/time impacts early.
• Manage program budgets from initial estimate through final reconciliation.
• Build the detailed planning calendar and track dates in client tools.
• Oversee suppliers (hotels, venues, transport, F&B) and finalize invoices.
• Coordinate registration, housing, and attendee comms in the client Cvent instance.
• Run onsite logistics with teams of ten+ during extended travel weeks.
• Mentor Event Managers and review plans and budgets for peaks.
• Maintain complete planning and decision files for handover.
• Raise scope and budget risks with recommendations to leadership.
