Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Senior Event Manager to lead high-profile, multiday programs for a dedicated Experience Studio team. You will own planning strategy, budgets above $1 million, and manage suppliers through to final invoices.

The role requires guiding onsite teams and mentoring junior planners on complex events for a major enterprise client. You will coordinate with producers, ensure accurate forecasts, and maintain detailed planning calendars while delivering

Qualifications

• Seven or more years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives with full responsibility from kickoff through reconciliation.
• Budgets above $1 million with a track record of accurate forecasts and clean reconciliations.
• Experience directing onsite teams of ten or more for multiday executive programs and audiences 500+.
• Act as planning lead beside a producer/creative lead with clear ownership of decisions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff through onsite execution and close.
• Lead planning beside the producer and communicate cost/time implications early.
• Build and manage program budgets from initial estimate through reconciliation.
• Create and maintain the detailed planning calendar under the producer's master timeline.
• Manage suppliers (hotels, venues, transport, food & beverage) and client procurement rules.
• Coordinate registration, housing, and attendee communications in the client’s Cvent instance.
• Run onsite logistics with teams during weeks of travel and extended programs.
• Mentor Event Managers and review plans and budgets for peak periods.
• Maintain complete planning files and post-program recommendations.
