Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Diagnostics Engineer within the Service Operations’ Diagnostic Engineering team in Hayward, CA to advance vehicle-dynamics diagnostics. You will coordinate software development for diagnostics, define electrical architecture, and leverage AI tools to enhance diagnostic capabilities across the fleet.

You will work with software, hardware, and field teams to deliver robust diagnostic solutions, validate tests, and maintain documentation while traveling up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 3+ years with low voltage automotive systems.
• Experience with C++, Python, SQL, Linux.
• Familiarity with CAN and Ethernet tools (Vector CANalyzer, Wireshark).
• Experience with AI coding tools preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide diagnostics in vehicle dynamics, drive units, brakes, steering, and suspension.
• Coordinate and prioritize software development for diagnostics.
• Design electrical architecture and requirements for diagnostic systems.
• Use AI tools to assist diagnostics and build diagnosis apps.
• Create dashboards and data queries for feedback to hardware/software teams.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and manufacturing to improve diagnostics.
• Validate diagnostics through testing and logs analysis.
