Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Diagnostic Engineering specialist for Service Operations in Hayward, CA. You will own coordination of diagnostics development for low voltage systems, work with software teams, and design requirements for new DTCs, while leveraging AI tools to enhance diagnostic capabilities and efficiency.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration, validation testing, and continuous improvement of diagnostic content and procedures across Rivian's fleet.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience with Low Voltage Systems in automotive or similar.
• Experience with C++, Python, SQL, Linux at comprehension level; synthesis-level preferred.
• Experience with AI coding tools (Claude, Devin, Cursor).
• Experience with CAN and Ethernet tools such as Vector CANalyzer and Wireshark.

Responsibilities

• Act as service engineering SME in BEV low voltage modules and integration.
• Translate software requirements into clear diagnostic procedures for technicians.
• Partner with Software Development to ensure diagnostic tools meet Service needs.
• Design software requirements for new DTCs and improve diagnostic content.
• Develop and improve diagnostic scripts and testing procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in diagnostics.
