Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Diagnostic Engineer within the Service Operations’ Diagnostic Engineering team to lead diagnostics development for high voltage charging and interoperability. You will coordinate software priorities, define requirements, and leverage AI tools to enhance diagnostics across Rivian vehicles.

This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, hands-on CAN/Ethernet tools experience, and collaboration with software, hardware, and field teams. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in High Voltage Charging and EVSE in automotive or similar.
• Experience with C++, Python, SQL and Linux at comprehension level.
• Knowledge of CAN and Ethernet tools (Vector CANalyzer, Wireshark).
• Strong engineering fundamentals across mechanics, electronics, software, and controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop SME in high voltage charging systems, interoperability and industry standards.
• Coordinate and prioritize diagnostics software development.
• Evaluate electrical architecture and formulate diagnostic requirements.
• Utilize AI tools to support diagnostics and generate applications.
• Monitor and evaluate vehicle telemetry and diagnostic data.
• Design test plans for diagnostics and validation with cross-functional teams.
• Document diagnostic content and procedures for service teams.
