Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Staff Advanced Diagnostics Engineer to serve as a technical authority for factory and vehicle software diagnostics. You will lead triage, investigation, and resolution of complex electrical, vehicle software, and IT issues affecting quality, throughput, and launch readiness.

You will establish scalable diagnostic methods and drive issues from detection through prevention. Expect hands-on diagnostic work across vehicle ECUs, networks, embedded software, and IT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer/software or related field.
• Typically 6+ years in automotive systems, vehicle software, or advanced diagnostics.
• Demonstrated RCAs and corrective actions for complex issues.
• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical architectures and networks.
• Experience with CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, UDS.

Responsibilities

• Lead diagnostic triage and root-cause analysis for vehicle and factory software issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and data to isolate failures and validate fixes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive issues to closure.
• Develop escalation pathways and diagnostic playbooks.
• Mentor engineers in advanced troubleshooting.
