Job summary

ChargeTronix is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician (Tier III) to own uptime across a Southern California-based territory. This role fixes complex faults on DC fast chargers, commissions new sites, and mentors Tier I/II techs while coordinating with customers and engineers.

You’ll diagnose component-level issues, test interop across vehicle platforms, and drive field bulletins to scale fixes. Expect heavy travel and direct impact on reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on electrical or electromechanical field service, including 3+ years on EV charging equipment, with at least 2 years on DC fast chargers.
• Experience repairing components on DCFC hardware at the module/board level and wiring replacements.
• Ability to read charger logs (PLC, CAN, OCPP) and capture evidence for warranty/engineering.
• Experience training or leading other technicians, and writing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair DCFC faults at component level when appropriate; resist full-unit swaps.
• Commission and test new installations, verify 480 V service, grounding, and network registrations.
• Own uptime and MTTR for sites in the territory; report weekly on performance metrics.
• Mentor Tier I/II technicians; develop SOPs and training materials for the service team.
• Communicate issues and risks proactively to the service manager with proposed solutions.
• Complete field service reports and ensure tools and PPE are calibrated and inspection-ready.
