Job summary

ChargeTronix is seeking a Senior DC fast-charger technician to own uptime in a Southern California–based territory. You will diagnose, repair, and commission field installations, mentor junior techs, and coordinate with engineering for root-cause analysis.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical field service, 3+ on EV charging, and 2+ years on DCFC, with HV experience and strong problem-solving skills. Travel will be extensive, with safety and reliability as top priorities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on electrical or electromechanical field service, including 3+ years on EV charging equipment, with at least 2 years on DC fast chargers.
• Demonstrated component-level repair on DCFC hardware (power modules, control/communication boards, contactors, cooling) and cable/connector replacement.
• Experience with 480 V three-phase systems and high-voltage DC; comfortable reading one-lines, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Track record of training or leading other technicians, or of writing procedures others follow.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair (Tier III escalation) faults on DC fast chargers; read and interpret logs to isolate root cause; provide remote support to junior technicians.
• Commission and test new installations: verify service capacity, grounding, torque values, and network registration; sign off readiness for charge.
• Own uptime and reliability in territory; mentor Tier I/II technicians; write field service bulletins and work instructions.
• Lead and mentor: train technicians, write SOPs and guides, act as primary on-site contact for customers and site hosts.
• Safety: perform NFPA 70E hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and PPE selection on every energized job; ensure NEC compliance.
• Document and communicate: complete field service reports; report issues proactively with solutions.
