Job summary

ChargeTronix is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician (Tier III) to own uptime for a Southern California territory. You will commission sites, supervise Tier I/II technicians, and provide root-cause analysis for repeat faults with field bulletins and SOPs.

You will diagnose complex outages, read PLC/CAN logs, and mentor teammates while working independently with minimal supervision. Travel-heavy role with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on electrical or electromechanical field service, including 3+ years on EV charging equipment.
• 2+ years on DC fast chargers (50 kW and above).
• Experience with component-level repair and reading charger logs (PLC/CAN) to identify root causes.
• NFPA 70E qualified-person; OSHA/industrial safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair DC fast-charger faults at the component level; perform repairs on power modules and boards.
• Commission new installations; verify service, grounding, networking, and back-end registration; sign off readiness.
• Own uptime/MTTR metrics for territory; provide weekly reports and preventive maintenance.
• Lead and mentor Tier I/II technicians; develop SOPs and training materials for the service team.
• Maintain safety compliance on energized jobs; perform lockout/tagout per NEC and local codes.
• Document issues and communicate risks and parts needs to service manager with proposed solutions.
