Job summary

Layton Construction Company is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to actively support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards on site. You will lead safety initiatives, coordinate training, and ensure OSHA compliance across Layton projects.

The role emphasizes continuous learning, strong communication, and collaboration with ESH, HR, and operations to protect workers and optimize safety outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with at least 3 years in construction or industrial health and safety.
• Demonstrated ongoing education in construction safety practices.
• OSHA 510 – Construction Industry standards certification.
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED within the last two years.
• OSHA 30-hour training for construction and STS certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build relationships.
• Commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety standards and deliver predictable outcomes for teams and customers.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA and Layton Construction safety policies.
• Assist in accident investigations and gather initial data.
• Monitor workers’ compensation issues and report timely information.
• Conduct site safety orientations and participate in pre-construction meetings.
• Support injury management and ensure cost-effective medical care.
• Perform site safety surveys, gas/noise checks, and respirator fit tests.
• Provide safety training to employees and subcontractors on site.
• Support ESH, HR, and VP-Field Operations on compliance matters.
