Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to actively support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. The role requires a strong foundation in construction safety practices and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

The successful candidate will monitor safety conditions, lead site orientations, investigate incidents with the ESH Manager, and deliver safety training to employees and subcontractors while ensuring

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with minimum 3 years of construction or industrial health and safety experience
• OSHA 510 - Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction industry certificate required
• First Aid, CPR, AED certification with last 2 years validity
• Completed OSHA 30-hour training for construction and STS certification
• Strong written and verbal communication with solid organizational skills
• Commitment to continuous learning and ESH competency development

Responsibilities

• Support project teams to ensure effective safety, health, and environmental standards at site level
• Investigate accidents and near-misses with the ESH Manager
• Monitor workers' compensation issues and report timely information
• Conduct site-specific safety orientations and pre-construction safety meetings
• Provide safety-related training to site personnel and subcontractors
• Perform industrial hygiene surveys and respirator fit testing as needed
• Assist VP-Field Operations and HR to ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Compensation laws
• Support monthly corporate Safety Committee meetings
• Engage in ongoing safety improvements and incident prevention
