Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to actively support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. The role requires a solid foundation in construction safety practices and a commitment to continuous learning.

The position involves enforcing OSHA standards, conducting site orientations, assisting in investigations, coordinating safety training, and supporting injury management and compliance efforts across Layton projects.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with a minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or industrial health and safety programs.
• Demonstrated practical knowledge and continuing education in construction safety.
• OSHA 510 - Construction Industry certification.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within the last two years.
• OSHA 30-hour construction training and Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Champions The Layton Way by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Ensures Constructing with Integrity through honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
• Monitors safety conditions and enforces OSHA and Layton standards.
• Assists ESH Manager in accident investigations and data collection.
• Monitors workers' compensation issues and reports information.
• Conducts site safety orientations and pre-construction safety meetings.
• Supports injury management to ensure appropriate medical care.
• Conducts industrial hygiene surveys and respirator fit testing as needed.
• Supports VP-Field Operations and HR to ensure legal compliance.
• Provides safety training to site personnel and subcontractors.
• Participates in monthly Safety Committee meetings.
