Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. The role requires a strong foundation in construction safety practices and a commitment to continuous learning.

The position involves partnering with the ESH Manager on investigations, safety orientations, and training, while ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, and workers’ compensation considerations on Layton projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• OSHA 510 certification required.
• OSHA 30-hour and STS recommended.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred within two years.
• Clear/verbal and written communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Champions safety standards and predictable outcomes on internal and external teams.
• Monitors safety conditions and enforces OSHA and Layton standards.
• Assists ESH Manager in accident investigations and data collection.
• Tracks workers’ compensation issues and supports timely reporting.
• Conducts site-specific safety orientations for project teams.
• Supports pre-construction meetings with safety emphasis.
• Assists with injury management and ensures cost-effective medical care.
• Performs industrial hygiene surveys and respirator fit testing when needed.
• Provides safety training to site personnel and subcontractors.
• Participates in monthly Safety Committee meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
