Job summary

Layton Construction in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. This role requires a strong foundation in construction safety practices and a commitment to continuous learning.

You will monitor safety conditions, assist in accident investigations, coordinate trainings, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards, workers' compensation, FMLA, and ADA.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with a minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or industrial health and safety programs.
• Demonstrated practical knowledge and continuing education in construction safety.
• OSHA 510 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry certificate.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, within the last 2 years.
• OSHA 30-hour construction training and STS certification.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Champions safety standards and delivers predictable outcomes for teams and customers.
• Ensures safety policies are enforced according to OSHA and Layton Construction standards.
• Assists ESH Manager with accident investigations and data collection.
• Monitors workers’ compensation issues and reports timely information.
• Conducts site-specific safety orientations for project teams.
• Participates in pre-construction meetings to address safety needs.
• Supports injury management and ensures compliant medical care when needed.
• Provides safety training and participates in monthly Safety Committee meetings.
• Assists with compliance related to FMLA, ADA, and Workers’ Compensation law.
