Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. The role requires a strong foundation in construction safety and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

The candidate will collaborate with the ESH Manager to investigate incidents, manage safety training, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations across multiple projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with a minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or industrial health and safety programs.
• Demonstrated practical knowledge and documented continuing education in the field of construction safety.
• OSHA 510 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry certificate.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within the last two years.
• OSHA 30-hour training for construction and Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Champions safety standards and ensures OSHA and Layton Construction policies are enforced.
• Assists the ESH Manager in investigating accidents and near misses, collecting data.
• Monitors workers’ compensation issues and reports information.
• Conducts site-specific safety orientations and assists with pre-construction safety planning.
• Provides safety training to employees and subcontractors; participates in Safety Committee meetings.
