Job summary

Deckers Brands is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect, AI and DTC Technology, to shape architecture powering consumer platforms and to build a governed, scalable AI foundation. You will lead cross-brand and cross-region initiatives, aligning with business goals while balancing governance and innovation.

You will establish enterprise AI reference architecture, drive MACH-based modernization, and mentor a team of architects and AI practitioners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 8+ years in enterprise/solution architecture in retail, fashion, or consumer goods.
• 3+ years architecting AI/ML solutions including generative AI in production.
• Proven MACH and composable commerce experience with microservices and cloud-native environments.
• Experience with large-scale transformation and AI adoption programs.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise-wide architectural vision for DTC commerce and AI.
• Enforce architecture governance across brands and regions.
• Create a multiyear DTC/AI architecture roadmap with milestones and risks.
• Own target architecture for DTC data flow across ecommerce, OMS, payments, CDP, loyalty, and more.
• Champion MACH principles for flexible, composable commerce.
• Modernize legacy systems to cloud-based, API-driven architectures.
• Define AI reference architecture, including RAG, vector stores, model management and observability.
• Establish responsible-AI controls including bias, privacy, and compliance.
• Define API-first and event-driven integration patterns across platforms.
• Oversee data architecture and governance for DTC and AI.
• Collaborate with leadership to prioritise architectural initiatives.
• Lead and mentor architects, engineers, and AI practitioners.
• Define and track KPIs for DTC architecture and AI initiatives.
