Job summary

Deckers Brands seeks a Principal Enterprise Architect to design and govern the DTC and AI architecture for its consumer platforms. You’ll shape a composable, scalable tech foundation across brands and regions while balancing governance with innovation.

You will lead architecture strategy, mentor teams, and drive modernization to AWS-based, API-driven systems, ensuring data quality, privacy, and compliance across the business.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of enterprise or solution architecture experience in retail, fashion, or consumer goods with DTC ecommerce focus.
• 3+ years architecting AI/ML solutions, including generative AI in production.
• Proven MACH and composable commerce experience with microservices and API integration.
• Strong multi-cloud knowledge, especially AWS, with security and scalability emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Develop an enterprise-wide architectural vision for DTC and AI aligned with business goals.
• Define governance policies and standards across brands and regions, including AI review processes.
• Create a multiyear DTC and AI architecture roadmap with milestones, risks, and owners.
• Own the target DTC architecture ensuring cross‑platform data flow across ecommerce, ERP, CDP, and services.
• Champion MACH to enable a flexible, composable commerce architecture.
• Drive modernization of legacy systems to cloud-based, API-driven solutions.
• Define enterprise AI reference architecture including model access, orchestration, and guardrails.
• Establish responsible AI controls covering bias, safety, privacy, and compliance.
• Define API-first and event-driven integration patterns across platforms and providers.
• Oversee data architecture and governance for DTC and AI data trustworthiness.
